我是湖北的一名高中英语老师，制作完这个抗疫公益英文演讲发布到公众号后，很多英语老师都发到班级群让学生学习。
所以我再次发布，希望给更多友爱的中国人带来力量！

04:34【英文】Life was so beautiful. It feels like yesterday.
But overnight, everything changed.
A ruthless disaster struck.
Wearing masks, we feel life is suffocatingly gloomy.
Workplaces are shut down. Businesses are suspended. Schooling has come to a heartrending halt. Roads are blocked.
The most woeful scene is for people to see their beloved ones dying. And no one is exempt from the threat.
Yet we are not in the least afraid. Instead, we brace ourselves and take the bull by the horns, as we did on May 12th, 2008, when a devastating earthquake hit Wenchuan. Buildings collapsed. Lives were lost. People were fatally wounded, but never gave up on hope, cos they knew we Chinese have a country of courage, integrity and love to depend on.
Still 10 years back, in 1998, Hubei was hit by an unprecedented flood. Hundreds of thousands of lives were threatened. Again, it was the same courage, integrity and love that drove thousands of people into the turbulent torrents and saved us from the unspeakable disaster.
Now, we are in the throes of another calamity. Yet, we are not afraid, knowing that we have numerous heroes to rely on, heroes as distinguished as Zhongnanshan and Li Lanjuan, or anonymous like them. In our eyes, they enjoy the same beauty, the same nobility and the same greatness, delivering us, through their strenuous exertion, the same security and love.
In a sense, these ordinary people are also heroes. What is heroism? It is this little girl working diligently on her school assignments. It is this solitary but industrious figure without network access. It is this high school senior studying in hospital. It is this teacher so concerned about his students that his hair dropped overnight. It is this virus victim pursuing academic exploration no matter what happens.
In a time supposed to strike panic into our hearts, you and me, ordinary Chinese people, never giving up on hope, contributing to the greatness of our country in our own way, are true heroes of our society, the backbone of the giant China.
United as one, guided by the same courage, integrity and love that have seen us through countless tests, let’s express in a unanimous voice: Stay strong, Wuhan! Stay Strong, Hubei! Stay strong, China!
【中文】仿佛还在昨天，生活依然美好！
但是一夜之间，风云突变。
无情的灾难突然降临。
我们被迫戴上口罩，生活变得阴暗、令人窒息。
工厂停工，商业停摆，交通封闭，尤其令人揪心的是，学校也被迫停课。
最悲痛的事情，莫过于眼睁睁地看着亲人离去，无能为力！
没有人能够幸免于病魔的威胁。
但是，我们毫不畏惧！
相反，就像我们在2008年勇敢面对汶川大地震，我们精神百倍，勇敢迎战灾难！
汶川地震是毁灭性的。建筑崩塌，鲜活的生命瞬间逝去，不计其数的同胞重伤，但是心中依然充满希望。
因为他们知道，我们有英勇、团结、友爱的中国精神！
时光再回溯十年，1998年。
百年难遇的特大洪水袭击湖北。
长江沿岸数十万的生命面临威胁。
再一次，英勇、团结、友爱的中国精神让成千上万的勇士不顾生命跳入汹涌激流，使人民生命财产安然无恙。
铁骨铮铮，钢铁长城！
现在，我们再次经历灾难的阵痛。
但是，我们毫不畏惧！
因为我们知道，我们有无数的英雄在负重前行！有像钟南山院士和李兰娟院士这样声名卓著的大英雄，但更多的是像广大医护人员这样默默奉献的无名英雄。
在我们心中，他们一样美丽、一样高尚、一样伟大。
他们无私无畏，浴血奋战，给予我们安全、大爱！
这些默默无闻的逆行者，他们同样是英雄！
什么是英雄？
这个自律勤奋学习的宝宝是英雄！
昏暗灯光下，坐在楼梯道里学习的女孩，叫郭翠珠，14岁，是一名初中生。这是她父亲陪她在村委会蹭网学习。
这个孤独但努力蹭网学习的身影是英雄！
这个患病住院还坚持学习的高三小哥哥是英雄！
这个忧虑学生学习以致一夜之间发际线严重失守的人民教师是英雄！
这个确诊新冠肺炎住院依然坚持精神探索的他，是英雄！
这本来是一个容易引起恐慌的时期，但是无数个像你和我一样，普通的中国人，心中依然充满希望，以力所能及的方式为伟大的祖国贡献力量。
我们每一个平凡人都是英雄，是中国巨人的脊梁！
我们团结一心，历经无数风雨、坎坷，始终秉持英勇、团结、友爱的中国精神！
我们一起高呼：
武汉，加油！
湖北，加油！
中国，加油！
