It cannot be denied that reading plays a key role in people’s growth and development in any era. The 21th century is a time of knowledge explosion and reading ability becomes increasingly important.

How to develop reading ability？ Based on this concrete and meaningful question， some steps should be taken. First and foremost， the main growth in your reading skill and ability will come from reading as much as you can do. Try to make a book list that you take interest in and make a practical plan. Just as the proverb goes that， “Don’t bite off more than one can chew.” Furthermore， a mastery of some reading skills is not only significant， but also indispensable. Some books are fit to do extensive reading while some others are suitable to do intensive reading. Meanwhile， other reading skills like skipping and skimming are also necessary.

To conclude， reading is to humans’ spiritual world what water is to fish. Only through persistent reading can we enjoy the improvement of reading ability and learning ability.

The Importance of Reading Ability and How to Develop It

Its well known that books are the quintessence of human wisdom. Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body. There are many famous sayings about reading throughout the history such as “Reading makes a full man.” Indeed, the importance of reading can never be too much stressed. Thus, here comes to how to develop such ability.

To begin with, as an old proverb says, “Practice makes perfect.”, what we need to do is to read as more books as we can, no matter whether it is a digital version or hardcover. Secondly, since there are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand peoples eyes, we need to deliver our opinions to others and share with others. This could not only help understand the materials from different views but also improve our reading ability. Thirdly, making reading a habit could also improve it. The more fun we find in reading, the more we are willing to explore the books and thus help us strengthen that ability.

In a word, no matter at what time we realize the importance of reading, we can enjoy it during the rest of our life and finally well see that it is rewarding.

People often say that gold and silver are the most valuable things in the world. but I dont think so. In my opinion, to read books is more valuable than anything else.the old saying“to open a book is always helpful”clearly shows us how good it is to read a book.

Books are our friends. They introduce us different kinds of knowledge.They lead us down the road to success.books are our teachers. They teach us truth, science, literature, and philosophy of life, besides they increase our knowledge, enlarge our experience, strengthen our character and do many other things which we can not do without them.we have to learn as long as we live. but our life is limited, and the knowledge is boundless. there are many things which are very necessary to learn and there are also many which should be avoided. Books tell us what is good and what is evil. and only books can tell the good from the bad.

Therefore to read more books is the best policy for our young students.
